Infozine No. 15 has been published!

The 15th Issue of our magazine Infozine is now available online, once again with a mix of News from the Info Center, the world of scientific communication and tips and tricks.

Research Output Visualization D-CHAB 2016

The research output of the D-CHAB has been visualized using the title words of all articles published in 2016. This reflects – among others – over 600 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals. 

Opening hours until early June 2017

Spring Semester has many holidays and you can even enjoy the Easter break. The Chemistry | Biology | Pharmacy Information Center has adjusted its opening hours accordingly.

Also this semester the Info Center participates in the Compicampus IT short courses: Learn how to use ChemDraw more efficiently and save a lot of time during studies and in the lab.

The D-CHAB Videos!

The Info Center congratulates the winners of the D-CHAB video competition and is particularly happy that four out of seven videos used the Info Center as location.

Studentische Hilfskraft für das Infozentrum gesucht

Das Infozentrum sucht per 1.5.2016 eine(n) studentische(n) Mitarbeiter/in (7%) zur Betreuung des Infodesks von Montag bis Freitag von 18-20 Uhr sowie an Samstagen und ausgewählten Sonntagen in den Semesterferien, in einem Team von derzeit fünf studentischen Mitarbeitern.

SoS – Science of Synthesis

November 12 is SoS day. Get to know Science of Synthesis through the Coffee Lecture at 13:00 or learn all about SoS in a seminar, both given by Dr. Guido F. Herrmann, chemist and Managing Director Thieme Chemistry.

Info Center closed on August 1, 2015

The Chemistry | Biology | Pharmacy Information Center will be closed on Saturday, August 1 (Swiss National Day). Closing time on Friday, July 31, 2015 is 5.00 pm.

Are you a bibliofreak?

BiblioFreak is a national campaign for libraries, supported by the Swiss Goverment, Kantons and several library associations. The campaign starts on April 23, 2015 and will last until end of 2016.

Limited Opening hours April to May 2015

The Info Center is closed on Easter, “Sechseläuten” (Afternoon), Labor Day, Ascension Day and Pentecost. In the week after Easter the Info Center closes at 6 pm.

New ICBP Guides are available now

The Chemistry | Biology | Pharmacy Information Center (ICBP) guide “Services and Information Resources” is now available in a revised version.

ACS on Campus: Registration is open now!

Attend the ACS on Campus event on July 9 & 10, 2014 and get insights into scientific writing and publishing, career options and advanced training on SciFinder and other  tools. Scientists from other Swiss Research Institutions are also welcome to attend. More information and registration can be found at http://acsoncampus.acs.org.

On the reading wheel: Green Chemistry

Check out our reading wheel! The Chemistry | Biology | Pharmacy Information Center has now put the first books on display. Our first topic is Green Chemistry. Books are exhibited until Thursday, April 10. Starting Friday, April 11, we will present books on auxiliary skills.

The Reading Wheel of Veronika Spierenburg

Already in the Renaissance tools were developed to support readers in processing information faster and easier, as for example the reading machine by Agostino Ramelli. Inspired by this example, the artist Veronika Spierenburg has created a metal reading wheel, which can now be expierenced in the Information Center.

RxnFinder Trial Access

Up to April 30, 2014, ETH Zurich has access to the RxnFinder, the online search engine for the ChemInform Reaction Library (CIRX). CIRX contains over 1.7 million reactions and covers data from 1990 to the present, with data selected from about 100 journals.

The Coffee Lectures are back

On February 4 we will start our second series of Coffee Lectures. Coffee and knowledge will be available again on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 1:00 pm in HCI G2.

The Chemistry | Biology | Information Center is presenting its information resources and services completely redesigned on a new technical platform.
